Join us for our September lodge
(just after Rosh HaShanah):
This will mainly be a "Chaveschaft Lodge" with an extended Table Lodge.
We will have an election of officers for 2019 after the normal opening and candle lighting, with no formal Open Lodge.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Joshua Furman, presenting “Preserving Our Past: Saving Houston’s Jewish History, One Piece at a Time”
Dr. Joshua Furman is the founding director of the Houston Jewish History
Archive at Rice University. The mission of the HJHA is to collect, preserve, and make available the documents, photographs, artifacts, and
memories that tell the story of Jewish life in Houston and South Texas.
During his presentation, Dr. Furman will share stories from the archive,
show pictures of some of the highlights in the collection, and discuss how
community members can get involved in documenting our history for future generations.
Please RSVP. Family and friends are most welcome to attend the Table Lodge, beginning around 7.15pm. Kosher snacks and drinks will be provided.
See you there!
