PLEASE join us at Houston's National Cemetery, as we plant flags on graves in preparation for Memorial Day. (FYI there are many Jewish graves all around the cemetery.)
This organisation really needs our help this year (only 50 % of usual volunteers) so please sign up ASAP and participate.
(NOTE - READ IMPORTANT UPDATES at the bottom of this message, below the pictures.)
This is a family friendly event so bring your team and Masks.
SUNDAY, MAY 30th 2021 - Meet at 9:00 AM at our assigned spot = N3
- not at the center “HEMI-CYCLE” of the Cemetery due to Covid.
SCHEDULE for the day:
9:00 am – We will NOT meet in the center - NO ceremony.
TAPS – ....
Please – Once our section is done, please help other areas until cemetery is complete.
RAIN or SHINE – We typically finish around noon or earlier, if the weather cooperates. Our veterans served in rain or shine, so we will do the same.
PARKING: You may park in the cemetery, or on side streets - Do not block any roads
This year our group will be in section C8 & N3 they are opposite section O - the area we assisted at last year - Instructions attached below:

Hello Houston Volunteers!
Thank you SO much for being patient while we worked to finalize the new rules.
A few changes - things we MUST follow:
- NO Ceremony - no crowd gathering
- MASKS Required - I don't like masks either, but we have to
- 2 Bundles of flags per volunteer -

- Volunteer numbers were cut to 50%
- Yet, we still have 83 spots available
- NO Water provided - to reduce contact

- Social Distancing -
-
- Spread out / stagger yourselves into different rows
- Don't bottle neck at the totes - Please be patient
- and... we'll just do the best we can
Please - Be at your section for a 9:00 am start.
Remember - There are no tickets.
Leaders have a roster list of the volunteers in that section.
