HOD Community Support. One of the lesser known facts about Houston’s Hebrew Order of David is that the members regularly help to make a minyan at Jewish funerals. When a person passes away in Houston without enough friends or family, the presiding Rabbi’s know that they can ask the members of HOD to fill in. This is just another one of the many activities the HOD brethren undertake to support the local Jewish community.

HOD Members do not ask for or expect to be thanked. It is a one of the highest Mitzvah's to perform this deed when the recipient cannot thank you. They respond to the call and do not know who the deceased is, all they know is that the person wanted a traditional Jewish burial.

Seen here are HOD brethren helping out at a funeral of a 105 year old lady who passed away recently. Add this to the HOD Gravestone project to realize some of the amazing work done by the Jewish men's’ fraternity in Houston.
